The Start of Comedy Movies Review

Article

This article talks about comedy movies since their start long back in the 1900´s. The first movie to be produced was by Thomas Edison's Kinetoscope. These comedy movies were originally based on visual humor. Charlie Chaplin was one of the famous clown-style actors; it was because of him that Hollywood comedy movies became famous. Then came Buster Keaton and Harold Lloyd. These films were later replaced by sound in movies. This allowed the industry to create dramatic new film styles and use of verbal humor. After, in the 1920´s came the animated cartoons, they became the most popular Hollywood comedy movies of the time. Some examples are: Feliz the cat and Betty Boop but they became less popular because they lacked color and sound. In the 1950´s Hollywood films declined, interests shifted to social situations or family-oriented comedies. In the 1960´s star-packed comedies increased in nomber. Woody Allen and Mel Brooks were leading figures. In the 1980´s Hollywood comedy movies came like Airplane, Top Secret and the Naked Gun. Popular comedians of that time included Dudley Moore, Tom Hanks, Eddie Murphy and Dan Aykroyd. The most popular Hollywood comedy movies were of John Hughes, which included Ferris Bueller's Day Off and the Home Alone series of 1990s. Another development in Hollywood comedy movies was the use of gross humor, it was for younger audience. Including films like: There's Something about Mary, American Pie and many more. This is how comedy movies started, how they evolved and how they are right now.

You Again

Can you imagine that the girl that you hated the most in high school is about to become part of your family? A total nightmare, right? Well, this is exactly what happens to Marni, interpreted by Kristen Bell, in the movie You Again. This is a comedy movie, that was released on 2010. It is really unexpected and everything that happens in the movie big or small just captures your attention completely and makes you want to look more at the movie.
In high school, Marni was the kind of girl no guy would go near and was tormented every single day by the mean girls. She may have not been the prettiest girl in school but that didn’t give the right to the rest to treat her like they did. They always insulted her, singed to her mean songs and even physically hurt her. The worst of all was Joanna, the head cheerleader, interpreted by Odette Annable. She was the worst of all of them. And by the end of high school Marni just hated her for all she had done to her and for the bad years of high school.
All of this had a positive change. When Marni got out of high school she decided to change. She changed her look, to the point that she couldn´t be recognized. She took her glasses off, did acne treatment, and cut her hair. She just changed dramatically. Not only that but she also build up self confidence and was a completely different person also from the inside. She got a good job and was recently promoted to vice president, so she is very happy. All this happiness builds up when she finds out that her brother is getting married. She is very excited and can´t wait for it to come.
This takes a huge turn when she finds out that the girl her brother is marrying is Joanna, the girl she hates more in all the world. It seems that Joanna doesn´t recognize her or remembers her but Marni does and she doesn´t like her at all even though she now treats her good. It gets even worse when they meet Ramona, Joanna´s mother, that is interpreted by Sigourney Weaver in the movie. She is the enemy of Marni´s mom. So now there are two enemies that have to get along well because they are now going to marry Marni´s brother and Gail´s son. The movie shows the ackwards moments between them and how it is all solved. Here is a peak. Don’t laugh too much because believe me that the whole actual movie is funnier and you can laugh your heart out.

Just Go With it

One Sunday evening; my dad, my mom, my sister and me were all bored and didn´t know how to entertain ourselves. What we knew is that we wanted to laugh and have a good time. So we decided to look the movie Just Go With It. This is a comedy movie that you can see with all your family if you want enjoy some valuable time together.  I am sure that each member of your family is going to laugh nonstop and that when the movie ends you will all agree that Just Go With it is probably one of the best movies you have seen in all your life. This is exactly what happened to me.
This movie´s main character is interpretated by Adam Sandler, Danny Maccabee is his name in the movie. Adam Sandler is a great actor and for me he is one of the best comedy movie actors. He is very funny and I don´t why he always makes me laugh in his movies. He is really natural in acting and just the way he does acts is Hollywood laughs.
This movie, even though it sounds a little bit strange, is about Danny pretending to be married all his life. In the start of the movie it shows when he was younger and was about to get married but just before the ceremony he hears his future wife talking bad about him, so he was very disappointed and didn´t marry her. From this experience and on, he always wore his marrying ring. He believed that this ring was magical and it brought him luck with women because every time he had it on, women would come to him.
But all of this changed when he met a really nice girl in a party from which he really felled in love like he had never done with nobody else. This girl is Palmer, which is interpretated by Brooklyn Deker. Everything was going great, they were having practically a blast together until she discovers that he is ¨married¨. So there is when Danny starts to continue lying and things gets worse.
Danny tells Palmer that yes, he was married but that he was soon getting a divorce. Palmer says he won´t believe him until he meets his wife. So Danny doesn´t know what to do. But he is determined to do something because he really wants to be with Palmer. So he convinces his secretary Katherine, Jennifer Aniston, to pretend she is his wife after a lot of begging because she didn´t want to. What he didn´t know it that Katherine has loved him a long time ago. So he makes her a makeover so that she will look like she really was his wife because he was rich due to the fact that he was a plastic surgeon.
They do great at first, it looks like Palmer is really believing the story that they are divorced. They had a great dinner but at the end it is messed up by Katherine because she answers her phone. It was her daughter that needed her, she forgets and talks. So now Palmer believes they have kids and wants to meet them too. Danny has to pay Katherine´s kids to make them participate and they accept.
Then they all decide to go to Hawaii thanks to the son of Katherine because he wanted to swim with dolphins and Danny had to make this dream come true because he was threatened by the little kid. If he didn´t do it, then the kid will tell the truth. So all of them enjoy a great vacations were truths are revealed, relationships get stronger and they really get to know each other. Now go on, if this movie sounds interesting and you want to know that end, go watch it because I won´t spoil you the movie by telling you how it ends. But I am sure giving you a peak.

Grown Ups

One of the five characters from this movie is Lenny Feder, interpreted by Adam Sandler; this is the richest from all of them. ¨Hollywood¨ is his nickname.  Lenny is married with Roxane Chase-Feder, interpreted by Salma Hayek, she is a fashion designer that is always stylish. They have 2 sons and one daughter which only play videogames and have a nanny. They don´t do nothing that doesn´t have to do with electronics and are really spoiled and superficial, but throughout this movie they learn how to be more humble and really have fun.
The second character is Kurt McKenzie, interpreted by Cris Rock. He is married to Deanne McKenzie, interpreted by Maya Rudolph. She works all day while Kurt stays at home cleaning and cooking. He tries his best to do everything in his house and dedicates a whole time to it but his wife, the daughter and son and even his mother-in-law always recriminated him that he does everything bad and that makes him feel vulnerable. All of this also gets better as the movie goes on because all of them learn to appreciate what Kurt does and this improved their relationship.
Another character is Eric Lamonsoff. His problem is that he is over weighted and out of work. He tries to hide this by renting a very nice car to show that he is living well and has work. His wife Sally Lamonsloff, interpreted by Maria Bello, also has a problem: his 4 year old son still drinks milk from her boobs and they don´t know how to make this stop. Both of them solve their problems by the end of the movie.  Eric gets a job with their friends and Sally stops giving his son milk thanks to the fact that he learns to drink it normally when his dad teaches him to.
Marcus Higgins is another character from the movie Grown Ups. Marcus Higgins is interpreted by David Spade.  He doesn´t have a women by his side and has never really fallen in love with nobody, this is why he is alone and sad. He is always tries to find happiness by having romances with different women. But this doesn´t help him and because of these two things he drinks a lot and can´t stop this.
The last character of the five is Rob Hilliard, which is interpreted by Rob Schneider. He has three daughters which have lost completely lost contact with but during this trip they come to see him and their relationship is restored. He is also in love with a woman that is about thirty years older than him and everyone sees as the grandmother. Joyce Van Patten gives life to this character. They end up together.
The movie starts with these five boys in a basketball competition they had when they were 12 years old. In which they had a victory! They had a great coach that taught them great things not only in basketball but in life as well. 30 years passes and they all lose completely the contact with his coach and with each others because they were all occupied with their life, family and own friends.  But one day that no one of them expected or thought of a really bad notice came. Their coach had died. They all go to the funeral and each characters with their family spend a weekend at a house on a lake where they use to party. In this experience they get close to each other again, learn from each other and have a blast together.
When I personally watched this movie, it was a great impact! I didn´t expect for it to be that funny. It went beyond my ideas and how much I thought I would have laughed in a day! I just couldn´t stop laughing and I even got to the point that I cried. Can you believe this? If you want to laugh your heart out then I recommend you this movie and I know that probably you won’t regret it at all. Here is a little peak from the movie and the funniest parts.
